Position Overview The Call Center Representative is responsible for taking claim reports over the telephone from insureds, claimants, and agents for the Property & Casualty (P&C) Claim department.
They are also responsible for entering faxed loss notices and agent/insured Internet reported claims into the claim reporting system.
Essential Job Functions Answers telephone and asks proper questions to ensure a claim is opened and assigned properly at the first notice of loss Sets up applicable exposures on new claims Coordinates first party rental, when needed, on new claims Enters faxed loss notices into the claim reporting system Reviews agent and insured Internet reported claims and submits them into the claim reporting system Enters drafts into the claim reporting system to pay legal expense bills Performs other duties as assigned Education & Experience Required High School diploma or equivalent Typically requires 0-2 years of related experience Preferred or Specialized Prior P&C insurance experience preferred Ability to speak Spanish preferred Certifications & Licenses N/A Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Basic ability to:
Communicate effectively in both oral and written form Handle difficult and stressful situations with professional composure Accurately prepare and maintain records, files, and reports Exercise proper telephone protocol Work as a team member and follow directions Work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary Basic skill in:
Customer service Talking to others to convey information effectively Basic knowledge of:
The structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
